Douglas-Coffee County EDA

Interstate 95, one of the main routes ferrying travelers and traffic north and south, connects Southeast Georgia to both Interstate 16 (east/west) at Savannah and Interstate 10 (east/west) at Jacksonville, Florida. Interstate 75 provides north-south access to the west of the area. These interstates are no more than a couple of hours of drive time from Douglas via four-lane U.S. highways 221 and 441 and state routes 32 and 158. U.S. Highway 82, just 15 minutes south of Douglas, allows for direct four-laned access between Interstate 95 at Brunswick and Montgomery, Alabama, and all points in between.

Proximity to international airports in Savannah, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida means you can access the world quickly. Additionally, Douglas is only a 3.5-hour drive to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the busiest airport in the world. Locally, Douglas Municipal Gene Chambers Airport (DQH) is expanding services to accommodate an increasingly progressive Coffee County economy. South Georgia’s “friendliest airport” is equipped to serve corporate jets and has two courtesy vehicles that pilots and guests can reserve for getting to and from the airport.

Douglas-Coffee County is two to three hours to the deep seaports of Savannah and Brunswick, Georgia, and Jacksonville, Florida. Beyond those, there are ports at Charleston, Mobile, Tampa, and even New Orleans, allowing for fast importing/exporting of goods to/from anywhere in the world.

There are two mainline railroads in Georgia, Norfolk Southern and CSX. CSX conducts routes into and out of Florida through Douglas.
